We visited these markets in mid-May 2012 and I was very impressed! I was looking for unique items, not the mass produced plastic Chinese goods found at so many markets these days and I'm so pleased to report that about 90% of the stalls here have local products and produce. There are stalls selling jewellery, pictures/paintings, food, knick knacks, home... More

We've been to the market several times and it always draws us back. It's extremely busy and parking can often be tricky (try underground Coles car park, just a 3 minute walk) but its worth it. A great variety of stalls, most of which appears to be locally made and of a decent standard. You won't pick up any bargains... More

Most of the things on offer at the Sunday market are made by the stall owner or their immediate family. Obviously there is lot's of stuff you do not need but it's still good fun to look around. I wish they would ban that cheap jewellery that probably comes straight from Asian sweat shops or child labour. Less could be... More

One of the best markets in the region. I return regularly to these markets. I love all of the local arts and crafts, etc. The location is fabulous and it has a wonderful vibe.

The market is set up at the end of the main street in port Douglas. There were lots of stalls selling all kinds of things! Clothes, pottery, craft work and art. There are also food stalls selling local produce and stalls where you can get reflexology and massages. Really good market lots of nice things to buy. It's on every... More

Not certain if I would say that it's worth spending a day in Port Douglas on a SUnday just to visit the markets. We had the option of touring or doing this and I think touring would've been better. Having said that, they are quaint, friendly and a nice way to spend an hour or so. Lots if hand made... More

After breakfast its worth taking a casual stroll through the Markets where you can enjoy a fresh tropical juice or some local crafts. A very relaxed and casual atmosphere and being located next to the turquoise waters of the inlet makes this a very enjoyable way to spend a Sunday morning.

we found the sunday market really enjoyable ..the stall holders were friendly and chatty and we bought some very nice gifts. We had a very tasty coconut, first drinking the milk then the flesh which was roughed out for you, had it with a salad and a sweet mix .. a meal in a shell,

A small market with a varirety of local craft and talents. We saw everything within an hour and even backtracked once in case we forgot to see something.

It's hard to dislike spending some time walking through a weekend beachside market! This was an enjoyable way to spend a Sunday morning. There was a wide assortment of vendors; some were selling silly, junky stuff, but others were selling some very beautiful jewelry and artwork. There were also some produce vendors from which we purchased items to make dinner... More
