Whitehaven beach is reached only by boat. There is no accommodation so if you dont have accommodation on a boat you can only day trip - no campers. This beach is unbelievably beautiful. The water is clear and pristine...an amazing turquoise color. Pictures do not do it justice. The sand is soft and white and almost as fine as powder. In May 2005, took boat out of Airlie Beach. Absolutely loved the tranquility, beauty, clean water and awesome white silica sand! I highly recommend and plan to return! more
This is the beach you have dreamt about. Perfect silica sand that stretches on for miles, beautiful crystal blue water and large enough that it is does not seem crowded. We did a day sail to Whitehaven from Long Island and spent a few hours at the beach. Wish we could have stayed longer. A Must Visit! more
