The walk along North terrace is an education in South Australian culture and history - from the interesting Railway Station, past a fascinating old Parliamentary building, then on past the historic Government House, Art gallery, museum, University past the hospital to the pleasant Botanic Gardens - you could easily spen a full day on this.

Whenever we drive down North Terrace and look at the Museum, Art Gallery, War Memorial and Library etc it takes me back to our time in Vienna. The buildings are so well cared for and so are the gardens/trees.

There are so many cafes and restaurants and pubs here it is a "foodie's" delight! Great place to stroll and enjoy the gardens around the area and some nice gift shops too! Good accomodation in the area is a bonus1

The museum, art gallery and library and the university builds comprise a wonderful well kept cultural and historic precinct. The other side is a different matter, apart from the department stores, the footpaths are stained and there are derelict night club building and one poor historic building that has been propped up with scaffolding to stop it collapsing. There is... More

Love the way it has been planted with gardens and trees. Also think lots of seating is good. Many people seem to spend time there now

This is not one of the great places to visit in Adelaide. At the end of North Terrace there are some nice old buildings, the University, Parliament etc. They are worth a look at. If you go down towards the bottom of North Terrace it gets pretty ordinary, particularly at night. There are a number of places you can eat... More

Easy to get bout and start a tram journey, the tram is free throughout the central city and just costs $2.90 for a two hour return journry to Glenelg, the seaside area of Adelaide

All of the old cultural institutions are along this road and make for a lovely walk and explore within the buildings.

You need a full day (or maybe 2) for North Terrace. Start from the War Memorial then go onto State Library, Museum and then the Art Gallery. Stop into the Adelaide Uni bar for a cheap beer and onto the Botanic Gardens!
