Most tours are private and have just you and your friends - its like having your own chauffeur service! The prices are fantastic for what you get. The guides can even dive in the ocean and grab fresh seafood for you! Tours are in small, comfortable vehicles and are very flexible - guests often change their tours and we happily encourage them to make the most of our services and our top local knowledge. Tours operate in all weather conditions because we have backup plans that take you to the best places. « less

The whole time with Samuel I felt very relaxed and taken care of, he has a wonderful wealth of knowledge that keeps your mind stimulated. I was very slow to walk with on the track at Mt Wellington but he was patient, caring and had me tasting leaves off (the right) trees. Very Highly Recommended.

I and My girlfriend joined top 4 day tour at the end of April, I can say that was one of the best tour I have ever joined.. The combination of this tour covers variety of activities. In Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can experience hand feeding Kangaroos, Emus, touch koalas and wombats , meet the famous Tasmania Devil. Its... More

Both myself and husband spent two full days with sam and he went out of his way to show us different experiences. I would recommend his tours to anyone going to tassie as he is a great guy and makes you feel comfortable on his tours. Hope more people take advantage of his knowledge. Chris Kaz

Apart from the weather our 2 day expedition was wonderful. The trip was customised to our liking and Samuel was an extremely attentive & informative guide. We felt very relaxed on this tour even though we saw a great deal of Hobart, its surroundings and Port Arthur. We would highly recommend Samuel and Great Expeditions Tasmania Tours!!! Thank You!

By cruise ship, my parents and I visited Hobart for the first time in Jan 2012. We could only do a day trip. I found Samuel's company through Tripadvisor. Based on so many excellent reviews, we booked the Top Four tour in advance before going on board. It turned out my choice was so right. We were able to see... More

We had read the great reviews, but Sam was already booked up for Jan 31, 2012. He went out of his way to arrange an alternative plan so we could still see Mt. Fields, Russell Falls and Bonorong. Travelling with another couple on the Diamond Princess, we were over five hours late getting in due to weather on the Tasman... More

Samuel, the owner/operator of Great Expeditions, is so knowledgeable about the history, natural wildlife and flora and fauna of Tasmania that you not only get to see the greatest highlights of this beautiful area, but you learn so, so much. Samuel pampers his guests on his tour. He took special care of each of us and accommodated us on all... More

Rather than take a ship's cruise tour, we opted for a prearranged private tour right from the ship's dock in Hobart with this small private tour company. We were not disappointed as we selected their Top4 package and visited Bonorong Sanctuary, Louisa's Walk, Mt. Wellington and Richmond Village. Our guide Hani made everyone feel very at ease and contributed to... More

Sam McLennan and his Great Expeditions will provide you with all the local and area sites without the muss and fuss of a big bus and long winded historical rhetoric. He took us for an entire day..we saw everything from the local flor and fauna, to Port Arthur, Remakable Cave, all the bays, and more. His personality and educated background... More
