Very convenient location near the center of town and free admission. Great place to spend a couple of hours after seeing the sights. Gardens are well kept and full of thousands of plant species from all over the world. more
One of the best botanical gardens I have seen in Australia. A joy to relax in. There is the tropical gardens, nice and misty, and the water area where the kids can feed the ducks. I have been there every time I manage to get down to Hobart, which can be 10 years in between visits and I still am... more
I was carrying out photographic work in the gardens till 6:30 p.m. which is the advertised closing time. At 6:27 I arrived at the gate to exit the property. The gate was locked. There were several other people locked in, and more arriving by the minute. By 6:35 There were about 15 people locked in. Eventually a cleaner was located... more
