The visitors dine at Salamca, the locals dine at North Hobart. In the strip beween Burnett Street and the Post Office is Hobart's best concentration of restaurants and take aways. The prices are competative and most, if not all, are "bring your own" wine. Not to be missed. A short bus ride or walk, to Central Hobart
Lots of choice, mostly friendly staff in every place. Lots of ATMs and close to the CBD

A good selection of restaurants and cafes, as well as a great grungy pub called The Alley Cat Bar.
