You walk with the actors, Judith and Chris Cornish, in full costume, as they tell Louisa's story that starts in the gardens of Cascade Brewery, in South Hobart, along the Hobart Rivulet the early source of the city's water, to the Female Factory, where Louisa was imprisoned. « less

This is unlike anything I've experienced. Street theatre taken to an interactive level. You become part of the story. Is as important as Port Arthur. More

There is no way to better understand a sordid part the history of Tasmania than by participating in this brilliant play which enacts Louisa's story during the mid 19th century when England deported thousands of unfortunate women to this former prison colony. Two polished actors portray both Louisa and her partner who fills the roles of her many antagonists. It... More

The Louisa's Walk event provides a unique and fascinating insight into a dark episode of England's colonial history. Judith and Chris tell the tale of Louisa's journey to Tasmania as a female convict and her brutal incarceration in the "Female Factory" in a professional, effective and sometimes very emotional way. I was a little sceptical at first, but once we started the walk, I found it a most informative and entertaining walk. Even a little emotional at times. Our group was amazed at both the history and the ability of the guides to bring Louisa's story to life. Well worth the effort to go. More

If you want to get into the history of Tasmania's convict settlement then don't miss this activity. A walk of less than a kilometre with a couple of short flights of steps to tread, but lots of chances to catch your breathe, takes the audience to the Women's Factory. Once there you'll learn about the life of those interned. An... More

These two treasures are telling the story of people often forgotten - the female convicts. The tale of hardships and abuse of the women convicts sent here was very sad and also inspiring. This is the story of one such person, Louisa. The story was interesting but what really drew you in was its theatrical telling all the while delivered... More
