The Melbourne Aquarium was a fun way to spend a couple hours. There was a sign on the counter for a small discount if you had a metrocard which was a nice savings considering the aquarium is on the pricey side. Great for kids - easy to get close up to the creatures large and small

We bought annual passes for each other as Christmas gifts, so whenever we stay or visit the city, we try and pop in. Even if we just go for half an hour or so, it is so worth it. The Melbourne Aquarium is probably not on the "must do" list for Melbourne, but it's well worth a visit. There's a really good array of displays and the shark tank is pretty special. It's certainly not cheap, but you can see where the money has gone to build the displays. The new penguin exhibit is worth a look too.
