This is a review from my visit in Jan 2009. The collection in the NGV is perhaps one of the best in Australia. It features works from masters ranging from Picasso, Stubbs, Rothko to Bernini, Rembrandt, Rubens, Tiepolo, Tintoretto, Titian, Uccello, and Veronese. The NGV has two sites (Annexes) within the CBD and close to each other. One at the Arts Centre (the next building after the spire) and the other at Federation Square. The Art Centre houses international Art whereas Fed Square has Australian art, including aboriginal. Entry is free, with 2 tours daily - I think the times were 11am and... more
