It's an excellent free tour (when Parliament isn't sitting) that takes you right into the council chambers - you even get to sit on the legislators seats while the guide explains how the system work. A gorgeous building with a lot of history (the Federal Parliament used the building from 1901-1927). Very worthwhile. more

The excellent free tours available at Parliament House (enter up the steps off Bourke and Spring Streets) are becoming more and more popular. Though this 1850-era building has never been completed (some parliamentarians still occupy the so-called standalone 'chook house' (a prefabricated building) when Parliament is sitting), it is still magnificent.
