What a beautiful region of Australia. Scenery to die for and plenty of interesting things to see. It's well worth a trip.

We enjoyed just driving around looking at the scenery and stopping in the towns just to look at the shops.

There are lots of lovely things to see in the Dandenong ranges. Lots of beautiful cafes and restaurants and great walks and shops to browse in. Spend the day or a couple of days in one of the beautiful bed and breakfast places available.

We visited the Dandenongs twice, one on a bus tour and the second time on the Puffing Billy. Next year going to drive through the region and stop and see more things

I love the Dandenong Ranges, it's such a pretty place to drive or take a train tour. I think it's a must if you are visiting Melbourne. The little country towns nestled within are beautiful to visit and have brunch or lunch in too.

Lovely picturesque place to visit. Plenty of little towns with shops to stop at and browse as well as coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. Went up to Mt Dandenong lookout, and apart from having to pay to get in ($5 per car), the views were just stunning across to the city and beyond. Had a nice coffee and tea at... More

The Dandenong Ranges is most definitely one of my favourite places in all of Victoria and an absolute must for overseas traveller's in particular. Once you begin driving up the Mt Dandenong Tourist Road you become enveloped in the tranquility and stunning beauty of the surrounding forest with it's beautiful tree ferns and huge trees. A definite must is the... More

The National Rhododendron Gardens in Olinda are unusual and very beautiful if you go at that right time of the year. Otherwise the Dandenongs will probably seem overrated to anyone who's familiar with the wet forests of northern Australia or Tasmania.
