We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

City Square is unlike many other squares. It is not a huge open space but is more or less a space within a street. It has been demolished in recent times to make way for redevelopment and the building of the city metro.

The City Square has always been controversial. It's never the sort of place to encourage people to linger, more so now that it's been taken over by the Metro Tunnel construction project. There are some interesting statues, including Larry La Trobe, the dog who looks like a pig. The Burke and Wills monument has been removed for safe keeping. Burke and Wills, who perished in the Outback on the Victorian exploring expedition, have always been close to the hearts of Melburnians.

Yes you are in the center and there are lots of people about, hustling and bustling. But it's not that pretty, so no one lingers.

This is no more until the Metro Tunnel is finished and you can just look through the glass and see how the Metro Tunnel is going. The City Square is closed hopefully after the Metro Tunnel is complete the City Square will be better than befpre and the Burke and Wills statue back again

Visited on Sunday 4th March. We walked past and didn't think it was that great, plenty of other places more appealing to stop around the city and rest.

City Square is a fantastic bit of space in the city centre. We visited a couple of times and enjoyed this spot immensely. There are countless shops in the area. Fashion shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, and you name it, they are all there. It is an area where you can do your own thing and not get tired.

Melbourne has been voted the World's Most Liveable City consistently in recent years. The City Square has been a favourite place for visitors and city workers and visitors to eat lunch and take in some rays. The City Square has rarely hosted public demonstrations, unlike other public squares. The demos tend to be held on the steps of the Parliament of Victoria at the top of Bourke Street. At the moment, some of the square is closed off for the construction of Melbourne's new underground rail link. The Westin Hotel, which is adjacent to the City Square, may suffer a few minor rumbles, but trouble is not expected. Melbourne is a great city and its City Square is a welcome space in the centre of the city to relax, but part of it will be offline for a while
