My daughter, wife and I had a terrific experience with Dane and his parents (who happened to be on this trip). They took care of all the details, and got us to some spots that were well off the beaten path, exactly what we were looking for. The gear the provide is top-notch, and their 4x4s can handle just about any terrain. The food was really good, and always plenty of it. Overall, I give it a 5 stars and would highly recommend Dane and Explore4WD for anyone.

It is very difficult to describe de beautifulness of this place and the great experience this tour is. My family and I went this summer to Melbourne and we wanted to visit some of its countryside, so we searched up great ocean road and we founded this amazing tour. First of all Dane (the guide) is amazing, difficult to describe the professionalism and great attitude that he has. Since the beginning he was really nice when we booked and he offered lots of flexibility and options. Dane had everything sorted out (food, tents, etc) and he took us to beautiful places including a great camping site, small but nice towns with amazing coffee, the great ocean road, some hidden places next to the great ocean road, and of course to see lots of koalas, kangaroos, and other animals that where near the campsite. The priority of our vacation was to have fun, and Dane made of our weekend one of the most fun weekends that I have had, he even became our friend!
I totally recommend this trip to anyone who is traveling to Melbourne, it is the best!

My friends and I were after a weekend trip away during our holiday to Australia. We were after a real 'aussie' experience. Dane, our tour guide, was so funny and professional, showing us the amazing sights of the Great Ocean Road. We were provided with all the necessary camping equipment and food for the entire weekend which was great!! Dane treated us to an amazing aussie BBQ and we got to camp in the forest. This trip really takes you off the beaten track and Dane personalises the trip based on what you want to see. We never would have seen such amazing wildlife or beaches without doing this trip! Definitely recommend Explore 4WD for those looking to see the real down under!!!

My husband was going on a business trip to Melbourne-Sydney and he invited us to come with him, my 14 year old daughter found Expore4WD in the web that offered a weekend tour exploring the beautiful sites and places along the Great Ocean View road that is just 1 hour away from Melbourne, my husband was able to fit that short trip in his agenda and we will never forget!. It was really amazing, Dane, owner and explorer took us to experience Australia as we never imagined, we where able to see the most beautiful sights, places where common tourists can't reach because only a true explorer reaches and knows, we had fun, healthy and beautiful family time, we saw amazing shooting stars at night, wild free koalas, birds, kangaroos, stopped in beautiful Australian small towns, all with so warmth and professional care of our expert guide that among other things plans and cooks the best camping meals at the side of the fire. I really recommend this trip and company to anybody that wants to experience Australia a little bit outside from the "common tourist city trip" and it can fit in the same luggage of a business trip!. Don't miss it!

This tour was incredible! I'm not always into organized trips because I like to do my own thing however our guides (Dane & Haydon) were so accommodating to us - they took us to all the big attractions (12 apostles, waterfalls, gibsons steps, beaches, etc) but also to where our group wanted to go/what we wanted to do. I really liked the easygoing vibe and non-traditional scenic bus tour vibe. In addition, they provided us with all the necessities of camping (swags, sleeping bags, pillow, etc) as well as all our food!! The food selection was great - always something for everyone and a big variety! Such a great camping experience, aussie style ;)
Thanks Dane & Haydon for such an amazing weekend!! You guys really know how to make a group feel comfortable, relaxed and have a good time!!
Definitely would recommend this tour! I had the best weekend. I will be doing more tours with Explore4WD in the future!!

So I had the most amazing weekend ever!!! This isn't like some traditional coach tour bus trip it's so much better on every level not only did we camp off road in the middle of the national parks we visited secluded scenic beaches , waterfalls, caves and camped in the wilderness under the stars in swags :) the food was incredible and the schedule was nice and relaxed catering to everyone's needs. Dane and haydon the tour guides became our best friends so easy to get along with so positive and optimistic and a pleasure to be around. I highly recommend to anyone wanting a pure unique experience to start your adventure here I have already planned my next trip with these guys in 2 weeks time ..... Thanks for an amazing time and see you soon :)

Camping/4 wheel driving is something everyone should experience, especially when visiting Australia. The tour guides are fantastic, they take you to the most spectacular places.A highly recommend tour.

I was worried about doing another organised trip, but this was far from your ordinary trip. Dane made sure we all got to see what we wanted and would change the itinerary to suit our group, no strict schedule which was great. Feel like I had proper Aussie camping trip, sleeping in swags, bbq at night - Dane is an amazing cook!!!!! And of course can't forget the s'mores, so delicious.So much food provided all weekend. Everything packed into A fun weekend, waterfalls, various beaches, camping by a lake, twelve apostles, great ocean road..... 4wd driving was the highlight for me....! had great time would recommend to anyone. Thanks Dane !

Where do I begin. The trip was amazing. The tour guides we spectacular. They were so approachable, easy going, fun and knowledgable. They were full of energy which made the experience that much more fun. The food was great and plenty. Sleeping arrangements were perfect because everyone got to sleep in their own swag and they supplied you with everything you needed (mat, sleeping bag, pillow). The group was perfect size (approx 7 - not including the guides), which made it more personal to get to know people. The guides were also very accommodating to sight seeing. If you needed more time somewhere they were flexible. The only downside was the weather at times. It rained one night but that was uncontrollable. Overall, it was memorable trip that I will never forget. Best. Camping trip. Ever.

It was a perfect camping trip. The guides did a wonderful job, the trip was nicely planned and executed. The guides have profound knowledge with camping and travelling which made the trip so much fun and enjoyable. The guides are not only well verse with travelling but also an outstanding cook, the food was amazingly delicious. Dane the owner of the company is a highly energised person who ensures that the trip will never have a dull moment but a trip full of laughter.
