This is a great option if you want a gentle stroll, taking in some great views from North Head and the Victoria lookout. Don't miss the Navy Museum, small but realy interesting and free.
We took the ferry from here, was a lovely trip and a great view of the City. Well worth it

We caught the ferry around lunchtime on Sunday afternoon frorm Auckland and arrived to a what looked like a bustling country town.The information centre were very helpful providing us with a map and ideas on things to do. We walked to the top of Mt Victoria a volcano- a steep climb with a lovely view.
We used to live in Devonport, and now that we've moved, we often go for daytrips to Devo! The main street shops are lovely to browse, and make a few unique purchases! Excellent health shop on the main street too, they will mix you up some potions for good health! About 10 different places to stop in for a coffee...

Lovely shops,atmosphere, great place only down side was one shopkeeper asked me if i had a gold card!! Thought that was rude as I am only in early 50's and been told I look younger, did not buy the outfit I liked afer that comment!
