It is good that the art deco buildings have been preserved and most are lovely but in the pedestianised area it was disappointing that cars were allowed and that most stops had signage not in keeping with the period. Down other streets shops seemed to have made much more of an effort.

The trust has two daily tours, which are well worth the fee. Unfortunately, the prices in the trust store are very much on the high side.

Well done to the volunteers who run the tours. A very interesting insight into the history of Napier and the rise of the art deco movement.
