We were recommended the Mission Estate restaurant by our hosts in Napier and it didn't disappoint.... in fact, it was probably the best restaurant meal we had during our NZ trip. Great value too. The welcome was good and the dining room is extensive with areas for large (noisy!) groups away from the smaller area for couples - nice touch... More

First class food and service in very pleasant surroundings. There was a party of six of us and we all greatly enjoyed the quality of the food, the excellent service, and the ambience of the restaurant itself.

Mission Estate is one of the few Hawke's Bay wines we are able to regularly find in Hong Kong so we were interested in visiting this famous local winery during our recent trip and were glad to have done so. The estate itself has an interesting French missionary history, the grounds are well kept and beautiful. Additionally, the wine tasting... More

The buildings are beautifully restored and the grounds are immaculately presented. Had a wander through the gift shop, they had some interesting pieces. Unfortunately a tour bus had arrived just before us and had converged on the tasting room. After waiting a while as the tour bus guests were served decided to pass on the tasting. I am a fan... More

The Mission Estate was beautiful. Beautiful building, beautiful landscape; but the wines were ok. Typical of a place where there's massive amounts of production. This was the first stop on our wine tour and it left me craving something different.

It's my opinion that this place must be one of the best dining experiences in Hawkes Bay. You always get a good welcome by the staff, they are friendly, efficient and know what they are serving. The food is always a good and not over priced. The wine is great and again, not over priced. Love the ambience of the... More

We visited as part of a private group tasting and dinner evening. The building is really beautiful and they tell you all the history about how it was moved there many years ago. We weren't keen on the wines they offered for the tasting - rather dry for our liking. We had dinner in the old chapel there. Food was... More
