Great drive from Clifton Station. Informative and very interesting commentary covering diverse range of topics. The gannets are amazing to see and fabulous views of the coastline.

We rode our horses to see the Gannets (not up the top). very enjoyable and interesting scenery and friendly people on tractors etc
We made our way to Cape Kidnappers in early May after the gannet season was over so we were unable to try this activity, somewhat to our disappointment. Overall, the white cliffs are quite attractive, reminded us of those seen at Dover, UK and the beach was ok for walking, better than what we found at Napier where were we...

We did not have a tee time and just went there to visit, since it is one of the premier courses in New Zealand. The site is awesome, and we will definitely play there during our next visit. The drive up to the course is 6 kilometers of winding road. It is a little daunting.
Our guide had a sense of humor, provided a knowledgeable commentary with plenty of stops to have a look along the way to and from the gannets. Due to my fitness level I wasn't able to make it to the gannet colony though I did give it a good shot. I had done a fair bit of walking in preparation...

If you got time you can hike it over to the end or take a tractor; if you don't? don't bother with the drive over there. Didn't realize that when we got over there and we were a little disappointed. The hike take a few hours and we didn't even see a tractor in sight.
We took visitors from Montreal, Canada in November and did the tractor/trailer experience, they rated it the best thing of their holiday - then we also took our two grandchildren from Melbourne in January - gtreat family outing, spectacular scenery, great guides, gannets smelly but interesting learning about them - a very special day out.
The tractor ride along the beach was much more than what we expected. We had great views of the clifs, the beach and then the gannets with knowledgeable and fun guides. Do not miss it if you are anywhere near by.
Our group of four chose to take the overland small bus tour to the gannet colony. Our guide, Jo, was exceptionally knowledgeable (history, botany, geology, etc.) about the interesting landscape we traversed getting to the gannet colony. We stopped along the way at a sight that reminded me of the Ireland's Cliffs of Mohr. The gannets were fascinating. In mid-March...

Went on the trailer ride along the beach to reach the gannet site. Much more exciting ride than the road route. Will not forget the ride and the gannets were interesting too---good geological commentary en route.
