We walked the Tongariro Crossing. Kristy (our guide) was professional and had a wealth of knowledge. She was very easy going and made the day really enjoyable.
The booking process, and shuttle to and from our accommodation were excellent.
The packed lunch was tasty and the hamper at the end of the walk was a welcome sight.

Organisation, transport, guides and food were excellent making the trip very pleasant. The public huts that we stayed in were clean and comfortable. I was very glad to have my sleeping bag,, clothes and food transported by boat as, at 73, I am past enjoying carrying big packs; in fact I have never enjoyed it.
Prompt pick up and delivery. The guides supply very good, appropriate tramping gear if needed. Two days of easy lakeside walking through very diverse NZ bush with great specimens of giant podocarps and a great array magical ferns, moss and lichens. The third day is up into the eerie NZ Beech tree and moss cloud forest. Hut accommodation (no power) is...

Walking Legends are totally professional, well organised, caring, helpful and always smiling with a love of people and the work they do. I have done 2 of their walks and they have been consistently superb - despite very bad weather and conditions on the 2nd tramp. They should feel proud of their abilities and their business.
We had a terrific 4 days - well organised, well catered, and well cared for.

We did the Lake Waikeremoana guided walk in a small group. All the information needed was supplied before the trip and any questions I had were answered quickly. The guides were extremely good,. They were knowledgeable, capable but also made the trip fun.The accommodation was basic but we knew that beforehand.
Four-day guided walk around Lake Waikaremoana with Walking Legends. They do all the planning, supply any essential gear that you might not have and they feed you well.
Going with a group provides local knowledge, security and guidance. Most of all, you can access special spots that most walkers wouldn't find. Half the fun is the other odd personalities you...

Tongariro Crossing is rightfully classified as one of NZ's Great Walks. It's a busy place, with over 1,000 walkers every day. It's a long and challenging climb and descent but the views are worth the effort. You can do this walk independently, but you have to arrange your own transportation to the beginning and from the end of the track...
