Polynesian Spa has the use of two types of hot mineral water, one alkaline and one acidic, that are the unique point of difference of the operation. Many thousands of visitors to the spa have attested to the remedial effect the hot mineral waters have on such ailments as muscular complaints, arthritis and rheumatism. The Priest and Radium springs are most noted in this respect. We invite you to experience this World Top Ten Spa (natural/thermal/medical), as voted by readers of the prestigious Conde Nast Traveller magazine for several years and once again in 2011.We look forward to welcoming you to Polynesian Spa. « less

Loved our deluxe spa and renweal wraps so much we returned the following evening to warm up in the adult pools after a day of shopping. Both experiences were super relaxing. The history of the various bath houses that have occupied the site were very interesting too. My skin is still baby-soft!

At first, I was taken aback by the casual atmosphere (so many spas are luxurious looking) but it was still very nice. I had a 60 minute mud scrub with Swedish massage while my partner soaked in the mineral springs. He LOVED them. The 60 minutes, for me, felt more like 2 hours and I mean that in the best... More

So we went during the day, Oct 2011, as part of a tour (Waitomo caves and Rotorua, but we swapped out the agridome visit for the Polynesian Spas) We loved our time there :) You will experience a strong sulfur smell there :P but the centre is large and lovely. Reception, spa beds, nice shower facilities, lockers, then you get... More

My husband and I spent a relaxing hour in a private view spa overloong the Lake. It was very relaxing and had great views. We would definetly recommend the Private view spa over all the other options.

It does get very busy, with bus loads of people being brought in by the minute it seems, you should be able to get a relatively sparsely populated adult pool if you go at night. It's better at night anyway, you can relax in the hot pool and breathe in slightly cooler air from the night. Let's you stay longer... More

visited the spa to have a 30 minute aix massage treatment and soak in the lakeside spa pools. views of lake rotorua from the pools were wonderful, and visiting at a time of day that seemed to be not very busy (eg early evening) we enjoyed peace, quiet, and space in the pools. the spa treatment was second to none... We only did the adult pools by the lake not any treatments. There are several large outdoor heated pools. There is one close by the lake shore where you can see the stars on a clear night and get the night air to cool off in between soaks. The place was quite busy but probably hard to avoid that. They... I booked for two things at this spa one I would rate very low and the other very high rating. The private thermal bath with no view was really bad too many mosqiutos and grey walls all around you. The thermal water part was relaxing. I also booked for a mud body wrap which was very nice by a girl... More
