Well maintained and lots of information around the park. Trout, a giant eel, Kea, Kiwi etc. The other good parts for us with young kids was the play area and of course the Big Splash. This was good fun and close to town.

We enjoyed our day here as we realy love animals and there is heaps to see here and realy enjoyed feeding the trout. The kiwi birds are the highlight, The park is very well kept and clean and the animals are in good shape.
We did the night time visit so we could actually see kiwis. Under magical lights we wandered through the paths, met Jenny the male killing Kea and did manage to see two kiwis madly darting about, trying to avoid contact with nosey tourists. Our guide showed us several other nocturnal creatures but perhaps we also needed to visit in daytime...

Although I thought Rainbow Springs was quite overpriced for what it offered, the overall experience was highlighted by going on The Big Splash. It showcased NZ's history in an unique way and was worth the visit.
We used a two for on voucher so even better value and you can go in and out all day -
The perfect place to view NZ's famous kiwi bird. The walk through the bush is lovely, and the trout pools have some very large trout.
Wonderfully landscaped Park. Loved the animals, birds and fish and just being in such beautifuk surrounds
I was quite disappointed with Rainbow Springs. Its too small and theres not that much wildlife there. It would be ok for kids but its not good value. The new ride they have is a bit disappointing too. Sorry, but for something so new and only opened a few months ago I expected much better than this.
My husband and I really enjoyed the splash mountain! They didn't have baby kiwis hatched when we went, but we got the tour and she helped point out the kiwis they had. Without her pointing them out, we would have had trouble!
We paid quite a high entrance fee for two adults when we arrived at around 4:30PM. The park is opened until 9 or 9:30 but it gets dark long before that and the water slide closed at 5. I do not think it was worth the price. Basically there are big rainbow trout in ponds and a small aviary with...

Your ticket was valid for entry into the park the following day as well, so you could experience the parts of the park not open in the evening like the bird show and Big Splash. Sorry your experience wasn't what you'd hoped and...
