This little museum is set in a beautiful colonial building, and gives an insight into life in early colonial settlement.

Rotorua Museum recently celebrated 100 years since the building opened. It is a New Zealand icon, inviting one to enter. Perfect break after the exhibits. Nice variety. Wonderful views of the Governor's Gardens.

Took a guided tour. One of the better museums I have been to. Enjoyed the section on local Maori culture, and the story of the thermal baths where people came to for health cures.

A lot of thought has gone into this. The exhibitions are fantastic as is the cinema which will give you a jolt when you least expect it.

I had not visited this museum before, but if you want to know anything and everything about the Maori culture of this area, this is definitly the place to go. Very well presented and I need to go back to see more!
