This is the most touristy of the thermal parks in Rotorua and probably my least favourite. Its too crowded, too expensive and frankly, Wai-o-tapu or Waimangu are a much better day out for a similar experience.

Expert guides take you on a voyage of Maori discovery with craft workshops and a tour of the volcanic area and the resident guysers. Very good indeed.

We did the Combo evening tour which includes the geysers and dinner and cultural show. The geysers were great and by dong this you also get to see them again in the evening which increases the chances of seeing all the big ones going off with fewer people around. The cultural show was also good. The dinner was the low... More

First you get a tour and and see the geysers and the Moari village, then get greeted by the natives and invitedsee the Maori show. We had an amazing dinner cooked in the hot stones. Food was fabulous!!! Finally, a ride down to the thermal arfeas to see the geysers all lit up and have hot chocolate. Do not miss... More

Maybe a little too touristic? Waiotapu is more humble and quieter

We had a great time at Te Puia! We chose the night time experience which includes a great dinner in addition to the tour. We thought it was a great value, even though it was expensive. Our tour gave us a great background on the origin, language, and culture of the Maori. We saw the kiwi, the geysers and pools,... More

I thought it was going to be a lot bigger , but a short walk to the Gyser, a lovely Kiwi house, where you do actually get to see a kiwi....and you can go and see the craftmanship.

Tickets include a guided tour, the Carving School, Weaving School and the Kiwi House and they are all well worth seeing. We were a little disappointed in our visit but only due to the weather conditions of the day - pouring rain!

Returning with family..... Just fantastic, it is well worth the money (use the vouchers) Have promised my mum for 20years to bring her here, & she loved the local experience. You learn so much about the way they live.
