it does not take long to go through the museum, as it is really only 1 large room, but it is interesting and you can actually see 1 million dollars. The machine that represents the flow of money in the economy is also a one of kind that explains the concept in a way that no text book ever could.

Really worthwhile visiting this museum. Make sure you take up Mark's offer of a tour around. He was very knowledgable and entertaining. Interesting seeing where the ocr announcements are made. Not many New Zealanders would know about the MONIAC. Sad that we dont as the inventor was a genious. No entrance fee.

This is a specialist museum, showing New Zealand currency over the years, giving a bit of history on the New Zealand economy and financial system. Initially I thought it would be more of interest to coin collectors and financial types, but the displays are very informative and well set out. I think it gave an interesting insight into New Zealand...
