Catch the public bus #20 from town up to Mount Victoria for stunning views of the city and harbour. It's a bit windy, so be prepared! I lived briefly on Oriental Terrace, overlooking the gorgeous harbour and walked a few times to the top of the mountain. I saw wild wallabies there, which I thought only lived in Australia! Loved the mountain, the people, the city and the whole country. more

Mt. Victoria, or Mt. Vic as the locals call it, is beautiful. I would highly recommend driving to the top. You can walk, but you'd better be in good shape. We lived about 3 city down the side of Mt. Vic and would walk to the top on a sunny day. The wind is at its strongest there and standing... more
