Days Bay is really popular in the summer - nestled at the base of steep bush clad hills it offers a gravel beach with safe sheltered waters and several cafe choices nearby - and a jetty which you can catch a ferry service from into Wellington City's CBD. Days Bay is part of Eastbourne, a suburb of Lower Hutt City.... More

An easy 20 minute ferry ride from Queens wharf Wellington CBD. This pleasant seaside village with beach, coffee shops, small park, and within reach of the East Harbour Ridge walk and the adjacent and more extensive village of Eastbourne. The galleries and gift shops will not suit everyone. Great view back across Wellington harbour. If the weather's good there is... More

People flock here on a hot day, but even on a mild day it is still pleasant. catch the ferry over from Wellington and you are greeted with a strand of yellow sand, gently lapping waves (very safe swimming) and, over the road, a shady green park. A plethora of cafes and restaurants for refreshments. An easy walk along the... More

Days Bay is reached by the city commuter ferry from Queen's Wharf. Its a 30 minute trip each way. Days Bay has a lovely beach backed by wooded hills and there is a small selection of cafes there. There are also short walking trails into the bush.

Days Bay is easily reached from Wellington city by catching the ferry from Queen’s Wharf. It’s a peaceful harbourside suburb, a complete contrast from the city. The beach is very popular for swimming and sailing in the summer, and people fish off the end of the wharf year round. During the summer months, the boatshed hires kayaks and mountain bikes... More
