The wine tasting room, which was a church, in itself was lovely, add to that the young lady who did our wine tasting, and you had a recipe for success. Her knowledge of the terroir, and the wines made from it, made for a most informative tasting.

A little further out but well worth the drive. This boutique winery is in an old converted church. The wines which have a definite French feel are terrific. The cellar door wine tasting is situated in an picturesque old chapel which is an interesting environment in which to taste their excellent wines. We were assisted by a friendly and knowledgeable young lady who guided us through our wine tasting experience. We will seek out this wine in Auckland.

Clos Henri is a winery with a point of difference developed by Henri Bourgeois of Sancerre,France. He comes from a long line of internationally known Wine Makers and in 2000, the family bought 109 hectares of native Marlborough pastures to continue their passion abroad.
