It was great however I don't think it exists anymore, not since the big quake :(

For a “top” experience in Christchurch (15 minute drive from central city), enjoy a relaxing ride to the summit of the Port Hills. Spectacular 360 degree views of the city, Lyttelton Harbour, the majestic Southern Alps and Canterbury Plains. Plenty to see and do - wander the walkways, experience the Time Tunnel Ride, go shopping, relax and enjoy a snack or beverage at the Summit Cafe. Evening dining is also available at the Pinnacle Restaurant.

we went there with family visiting from melbourne and the view was amazing.I have tried the gondola at queenstown which was a shorter ride as compared to christchurch.When we reached there we could see the mountains and Lyttleton port.Quite beautiful view.They have a cafe & restaurant there we had few coffee's,drinks and snacks which seemed nice.Had a look around the...

Has not been open since the earthquake - we miss our family trips up the hill and through the time tunnel.

Just at the moment it is closed due to Earthquake damage; but it is due to open shortly ....... and is well worth a trip up onto the Port Hills to overlook Christchurch and Lyttelton

once the gondola functions again (after earthquake) it is beautiful to go up there and see the view, quite amazing.

Very good, fantastic views but you can drive the car to the same location for free as we discovered after paying to ride up.

This is my city and at present the Gondola is not in operation because of the earthquakes.
