we went there with family visiting from melbourne and the view was amazing.I have tried the gondola at queenstown which was a shorter ride as compared to christchurch.When we reached there we could see the mountains and Lyttleton port.Quite beautiful view.They have a cafe & restaurant there we had few coffee's,drinks and snacks which seemed nice.Had a look around the...

Has not been open since the earthquake - we miss our family trips up the hill and through the time tunnel.
Just at the moment it is closed due to Earthquake damage; but it is due to open shortly ....... and is well worth a trip up onto the Port Hills to overlook Christchurch and Lyttelton
once the gondola functions again (after earthquake) it is beautiful to go up there and see the view, quite amazing.
Fabulous view of both Christchurch and surrounding countryside also over into Lyttelton and the bays
The earth quake has stopped it I don't know when it will go again
Very good, fantastic views but you can drive the car to the same location for free as we discovered after paying to ride up.
