Great way to get your bearings in the city. The fact you can get on and off the tram means exploring is made easy! We had lots of fun chatting to the conductors while we went around as well - the drivers all had their own funny stories to tell more
I'd recommend the tam ride as the first thing you do in christchurch - it's the best way of getting your bearings and you get a commentary from the helpful tram drivers too. Only an OK trip. Quite often couldn't hear the tram driver speaking and to be honest there's not that much to oggle at in Christchurch.
