The clock was damaged in the February earthquake and the hands stopped at 12:51, the exact time of the quake. Clock was beautifully restored before the quake and is still very beautiful if not slightly bent now.

It's not perfect at the moment, but it seems it's going to be well restored.

We have been there a couple of times and it reminds me of the clock tower in deira,Dubai which is a modern clock tower while this one is from olden times and is a significant part of history.

It has always been a wonderful reminder of history and since being damaged with the earthquakes it has a significant reminder of how fragile history becomes.

You'll notice when approaching the clock tower how the spike at the top is bent to one side and the four legs at the base are supported to hold it up, but the tower itself is still a sight to see. get in now and take those photos as the clock has stopped at the precise time the quake in... More

Our gorgeous iconic clock is badly damaged but still upright at this stage. It's clock has stopped as the time the big february earthquake took the lives of so many last year. I love this clock, I do hope someone saves it.
