It does not seem to have a big damage by the quake. However you can not cross over it at the moment.
The Bridge of Rememberance can be seen when visiting the new Cashel Container Mall. The Bridge as i see it is now the new heart of Christchurch as it is today until the Cathedral is back up and running again. The bridge is fenced off but you can sit beside the River Avon and watch the world pass by.
next to new container shopping centre and shows a very different Christchurch post Earthquakes
This is my home town, The brdige is still here, but damaged and it's future uncertain. You can walk to it and around it, but not through it .
One that you must see, glad it's still standing. While there are a few cracks from the earthquakes, still a must see.
Not much to say about this really I was here a few days before the February 22nd Earthquake, looked at it from a distance but didnt really rate this as much of an attraction. Its more of an Arch than a bridge as you cant cross over it, and u actually cant drive under it either.
