From a local Kiwi. I took my visitors from Sweden on your tour to Penguin Place as well as harbour cruise This was in January 09. The reality did not match Monarch's description. There was a one and half hour "tour" of a penguin colony which was wholly artificial. The boat ride into the open sea was ok but did not compare to other boat tours we did. The boat was small, uncomfortable and over-crowded for the number of passengers booked. W took a cruise with Monarch Wildlife Cruise as part of a day touring the Otago Peninsula. We saw lots of seals, various birds - nesting shags, herons, and flying albatross. The albatross have enormous wing spans and several flew right over the boat. A very enjoyable experience. more
