Too little time to see all that is there but we enjoyed the butterfly experience very much.
A wonderful place on a wet day. There's so much to do there. From the children's play corner near the cafe on the ground floor to the wonderful Natural History museum on the top floor there's something for everyone. The butterfly house is just lovely and the grandchildren loved it all
This place is awesome, can spend hours wondering on a wet day
Found this museum by accident, but was a wonderful visit. It has attractions for all ages and tastes. There were many themes, so do allow at least two to three hours to look around, you will not be dissapointed.
the otago museum has one of the best and most interesting exhibits of maori & pacific life and history of a bygone age. birds now extinct, moa, huia, and those still existing but many that would can not be readily seen, together with sea life from around the coasts are wondefully displayed
Displays are nice, discovery world run down and could do with a good clean. Prices in the cafe are terrible.
I really enjoyed this museum, especially the ancient artifacts. Amazing to see such old relics. The butterfly enclosure was brilliant and even saw a little madagasca day gecko climbing about. Had lunch at the Museum and thoroughly enjoyed it. Entry was by donation only, so very affordable for families.
New Zealand's national museums are world class. This is a fascinating museum for both New Zealand residents and tourists. Moreover, it has a beautiful front lawn for picnics, a spacious cafe and a great gift shop. Don't miss it. And return again next time you're in Dunedin.
This was great, to learn about New Zealand fully from flora and fauna to geology and the history of it`s occupation was to understand what it is all about. This was my third trip to NZ , how I wished I could have seen this Museum and it`s contents before. Well done .
