We went on the 2 night hike with Ultimate Hikes and they do a fantastic job. Our jaws dropped when we saw the wonderful accomdations at night. beautful lodge, great shower rooms and a wash room/drying room. All fairly new. Meet very nice people. I used to guide groups over the Routeburn Track. I have hiked it over 100 times and it remains my favourite. I rate it more spectacular than the Milford Track. To me the Routeburn has far more variety. The track takes in valley floors, sub-alpine tussock fields with uninterupted views of mountains, snow, valleys, ocean, lakes, rivers etc. There are... more
