    Koala hospital
Do not come on a rainy day. Sadly we barely arrived and it started raining/pouring so we couldn't walk around to see the koalas. We did however read all the interesting information displayed at the entrance. It is great what they do to save these loving animals!

    Amazing
A dedicated bunch of volunteers caring for rescued koalas in Port Macquarie. A new venue is under construction however the existing one is still great. Several koalas are permitted residents due to not being able to be released. Others are awaiting release. Such a crucial organization to help wildlife. Gift shop and koala adoption available. Free entry but do make a donation please.

    Fantastic, educational excursion.
This was a great excursion with the family, with great views of the koalas and clear information about their conditions and health. The little museum had good interactive displays too. I cannot believe this place was free entry, but that fact ensured I bought something in the gift shop and made a donation. Only improvement would be some steps for the children to be able to see into the enclosures as they got pretty heavy lifting them to see in each enclosure!

    Amazing place
We would consider this a ‘must do’ whilst in Port Macquarie. The staff here are so passionate about what they do and this hospital gives you really great insights in to the biology and ecology of koalas. You also got to see koalas that are recovering and under the care of the hospital. Sadly during our visit, we saw a new koala who had just been admitted, and we hope that they make a full recovery. A very moving place and what incredible work the staff here do. The koalas are so cute and it’s amazing and brilliant that so many recover to be released. A highlight of our visit, and please do make a donation so that this important work continues.

    Educational and Enjoyable
A small area where the koalas can be viewed but well worth the self-guided tour. The youngsters (2yrs and 4yrs) loved the experience viewing the koala in their natural habitat albeit inside individual enclosures and a couple high up in the trees. The knowledgeable staff happily answered questions. The historic Roto House set amongst native trees with lots of bird life is worth a visit. There’s a cafe inside although we didn’t visit this. The children were happy playing on the extensive grassed areas where families were picnicking and playing games provided by the organisation. Would absolutely recommend a visit for families when in the area

    worth a quick look
These guys are doing great work. I was surprised it was free, and it was great (and sometimes sad) reading the stories of current and past rescued koalas. As it is free, make sure you buy something / donate to help their work.

A great place to see the Koalas and to learn about them too
We read about the Koala Hospital in one of the tourist magazines and went for a visit. What a wonderful job the volunteers and workers do. We saw lots of koalas and it was lovely to see and read about their recovery. It is free to go to however they really appreciate any donations. We really enjoyed our visit.

    Lovely to see
Friendly and informative volunteer staff of carers for koalas who have been injured and are being treated and rehabilitated in clean but rustic environment. A few long term koala residents who have injuries preventing return to the wild. Great for kids but good for adults too especially if you’ve not seen koalas well previously. No charge for entry so good to make a donation or buy something at their little shop. It’s important work.

    Lovely visit
We enjoyed our visit to the furry patients at Port Macquarie's Koala hospital. We spent about half an hour browsing through the displays and watching the koalas in the rehabilitation yards. Entry is free - but donations are gratefully accepted. This would be a great spot to bring the family!!

    Help save the koalas!
Great way to pass a rainy day! The hospital operates with no government funding, only on donations. Visitors can browse through a display of information to learn more about koalas and the dangers they face today. There are several koalas on the property in open air enclosures while they recuperate. Highly recommend! Tip: The roto house is located nearby. More history to review and nice little bakery to enjoy!

Mornings are when the koalas are given fresh leaves & so they are active & eating. The exhibit koalas are those that can’t be released back into the wild following treatment- they are so cute!
I was so lucky to see a wild koala being released & to see the vets doing an ultrasound. Great work by so many - I particularly commend the volunteer guide that greeted us with lots of enthusiasm & information. The koala could become extinct in NSW by 2050 so charities like this need your support.

A visit to the Koala Hospital is always a delight. The koala conservation work being done is wonderful and worthy of much support. We sponsored a young koala we can now visit regularly.

This is one of the best stops on the east coast. It was amazing to see all of the Koalas and hear about the rehabilitation work. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and the koalas are super cute!

This place is an absolute must when in Port Macquarie. The staff are all volunteers and are incredibly knowledgeable. You can get up very close to the Koalas. You can't touch or hold them, but it's not that type of place.
There isn't an entrance fee, but you can make a donation at the gift shop.
We felt inspired that the koalas are in such great hands.

Wow! This is a great place it’s free to walk around but they relied on donations. There are many koalas here some in the trees up high some lower down . You can ask any and many questions, the staff are there to help. It’s a must do!

This is a brilliant place to bring the family to in Port Macquarie.
It’s an operational koala rescue and hospital where you get to see the rehabilitation of koalas in action and hear the stories of the koala that are recovering there.
Amazing area to visit with lovely staff.
