The completely volunteer-operated Ballarat Vintage Tramway operates for about 1.6km along the shores of the currently dry Lake Wendouree in the suburbs of Ballarat, a city of 90,000 some 115km from Melbourne. The day I rode it for A$3 (cash only - pay on board), I travelled in a beautifully restored small tram no 466, formerly in use in Melbourne.... more
