Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Jul 2013 • Family
We spent a day on Tevaka sailing in the Bay of Islands in July 2013. Tommo and Michelle could not have been more pleasant company. The catering was excellent and the scenery and wildlife were magical. Watching dolphins playing in the bow water whilst gliding past beautiful islands is as relaxing as it gets.

Sailing is a comfortable dream not to mention speedy. The yacht is spacious with ample room for our group to dance and enjoy the evenings to a huge selection of music. Of course all the usual toys but these operators know how to charter and have the stories to entertain plus exquisite cuisine Thanks Tomo and Michelle even though we weren't in the pacific islands we felt as if we were Dolphins, Wales and Tuna on the BBQ.

From the moment we stepped onto the beautiful and impressively kept Te Vaka, everything was perfect. Michelle and Tommo were extremely skilled sailors and hosts full of knowledge about the area, not to mention their great stories from years and years of sailing and delicious food! There is no better way to experience the raw beauty of the Bay of Islands: on the tranquil waters, sails up, wind rushing by. We kayaked along the coast, watched an overwhelmingly beautiful sunset and felt more alive than ever. Can't miss it if your are visiting the Bay of Islands. I'm looking forward to my next trip already!

Not only is the crew knowledgeable about local lore, the hospitality & food was amazing. The boat impressive...with everything you could possibly want. We sheltered in a couple of different spots and kayaks were available, so much fun. I would re-book in an instant and would love to experience an overnight sail.

Wow what a fantastic family holiday! Michelle, Tommo and beautiful TeVaka were at the Russell dock to meet us at the very reasonable hour of 10 am to take us......well, really me......on a relaxing sun filled 4 day holiday around the bays and islands of the north. I was hoping the children would be so busy that they would allow me to relax, soak up the sun and rejuvenate the soul. My husband, of course, was there for the fishing, snorklling, kayaking, sailing and any other blokey activity Tommo could come up with. By lunchtime we were pulling in to a gorgeous bay with no one else around, and Michelle tells us that lunch is ready....I have no idea how she produced such a yummy and beautiful looking lunch from such a tiny kitchen....oooppps.......galley. I wonder what's for dinner? An hour later and it's swim or sail? I'm for the swim as the water looks perfect and I know I can get back on the boat easily! Then it's off to where we will spend the night. John and the kids tried their hand at the sailing and when we arrive they are off to explore the little bay. I went for a kayak as one should at least try to work up an appetite. Back on board and there are hors d'oeuvrers and drinks waiting for us before another scrummy meal and we are all sound asleep by 9pm. The next 3 days were just as perfect, each of us got the holiday we wanted, sailing, swimming, snorkling, kayaking, sleeping, eating, drinking but the best was the dolphins and the stars. Thankyou Tommo and Michelle for the holiday of a lifetime. Fantastic company, fantastic food, fantastic places, fantastic photos. We loved every minute.
