Contrary to an array of terrible reviews- Picked up on one coach, greeted pleasantly, given champagne, watched the rock as the sun set, taken to seating, given loads of quality wine and/or beer, regular refills, 3 course buffet meal, friendly staff, brilliant view of the milky way, informative speech on the sky, telescope, I left with a yearning to learn... If you go to Ayers Rock, make sure you add this to your to-do list. You won't regret it! The experience is fantastic and really a once in a life time thing. Food and entertainment is great... and you haven't seen stars until you've seen stars in the desert!

Our family of 5 (children aged 9, 12,15) did the Sounds of Silence dinner in April. Several full bus loads of people were picked up outside our hotel and had I not known that there were several sites for the dinner, I would have felt concerned. As it was, about 70 people can be accommodated at each site which is... More

There is champagne and canapes whilst watching the sunset - beautiful. Then we are seated for our buffet meal, meeting new people and exchanging stories. We are told about our stars - amazing to see. Great night!

We had not intended to do this dinner because our kids are aged 10 and 7. But we checked at the desk in our hotel, Sails, and were told that it was just a recommendation because the kids would be out late, with no possibility of returning to the hotel until 945pm, there would be drinking (oh, ok), and they... Like others we hadn't planned to do this because I thought it was too expensive, and I also thought it was probably a bit "touristy" for me. Once we decided to let our kids have Pizza in the room (you can get takeaway Pizza from Geckos Cafe) it made the whole idea more affordable. I was still sceptical when the... More

It's a bit pricey but it's good fun, the buffet food is good (but it is a buffet). The 'star guide'is very entertaining but sadly it was quite a cloudy evening when we went....

The Sounds of Silence is a great night experience while you're in Ayers Rock. It is expensive. The food is what you would expect from a nice buffet outside. The entertainment was fine but you are really there for the view. Location, location, location. We were lucky with the weather but if there is any doubt about the weather I... More

The food on this tour didn't live up to my expectations but the evening was good. The canapés and champagne at sunset situated between Uluru and Kata Tjuta was great. And the star talk was interesting. Met some interesting people at dinner. Bit commercial in general for my liking.

the sounds of silence experience when viewed on the website truely doesnt even come close to doing this place justice, its just one of those things you really should not miss, even if you think its a little out of your price range, just go ahead and save up the money and do it. you will not be dissapointed, with...
