To gain some more insight into the local tribes, their values and their culture, a visit to the cultural centre seems to add more credibility to the sights and sounds of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. I opted out of the climb after this experience out of respect for the local beliefs. Great displays, very good information videos and large open... More

We dropped into the centre primarily to collect the brochure mentioned at the park entrance, and left 40 minutes later wondering whether the place was actually open. There were a few interesting exhibits / displays, but the shops and cafe were all closed, and the few staff present viewed us with a mixture of suspicion and disinterest. The 44 page... More

An easy trip through the history of the local people and the majestic Uluru. The visitors guide available from the information desk is a wealth of information.

The coffee and food is a little too expensive, but the staff is very friendly. The stories were painted by local Anangu people and it is the perfect place before you go walk around the base of Uluru- because that's where the stories are. Don't Climb!

Great to view and purchase local art and crafts. The centre is spacious, with great educational displays and has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and you can eat lunch or an ice-cream and enjoy the views of uluru.

What was there was well displayed but felt such a lack of connection with indigenous Australians - would love to have had more of why the area is so significant and less about when Europeans discovered it.

I went here before doing the tour round the rock, the stories were interesting but would be better if someone made them come alive rather than being self discovery

The cultural center is much better if you do the weekday 10am ranger tour. They explain a lot about the layout of the place and some history as well. If you wander by yourself, you miss out on information that makes the center worth visiting.

Was nice, but i think it was nothing special... all cultural centres are nearly the same... dreamtime, pictures, paintings, souvenirs... ;-)

Maybe I am not hugely into museum type things. This was interesting and we did do some spear throwing and take a walk with a guide.
