If you know what Brisbane's southbank is like - then it is a miniature version of that. A man made beach and lagoon - deep enough to swim and cool off in and safe for the kids to play at without the worry of jellyfish stings

Wonderful layout and all for free. Beautifully arranged and natural pools, clean and with life guards. Surrounding sand and grass areas were superb. We even used the barbecues, also free and in a lovely setting. A fabulous facility available to all.

What a brilliant place to spend the day or evening! Free BBQ's and plenty of nice soft grass to lay around on all day. Plenty of shade if you want it or plenty of sunshine - the Lagoon is an awesome spot for couples or families

Great views overlooking the bay, sailing club and... More

We didn't actually go in because it was too cold, but its a really lovely lagoon. Nicer than those in Cairns and Townsville in my opinion. Nice grass area to relax and have a picnic, great view of the sea and nice atmosphere.

Airlie Beach is a bit of a misleading name, because there is not actually a beach in town. The lagoon feels commercial and manufactured, but is the closest thing to a beach that Airlie Beach has. The redeeming quality is the long strip of grass next to the lagoon that looks out over the sea and the boats, which is... More
