Our family of 5 was in a group of car enthusiasts for the full day trip. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day, including all the stops. The guy who entertained us with jokes and commentary in our carriage was excellent and very knowledgeable. The lunch stop at Imbil at the pub was great, and i would recommend this trip to anyone.

Better than expected! A pleasant and scenic day out. There are half day and full day trips depending on the day of the week. We did the full day return trip to Imbil. The on board narration provided by the attendant was quite entertaining. The lunch stop at Imbil was of a good length. Very friendly locals too!

The Mary Valley Steam Strain runs three days a week and provides a wonderful trip back into the past as it chugs its way through the beautiful Mary Valley past lovely farms, homesteads and quaint hinterland villages. Stops vary depending on whether you chose a half day or whole day outing. To hear children's excitement, tourists' amazed comments and even... More

Just get on and relax into the olde worlde of soldiers & folk from another era. Public whipping bit weird but there you go... great day out and cant beat the smell and feel of old leather and railway steam trims... it clacks and rolls thru green valleys and onto sweet townships of Dagun, Kandanga and Imbil. Bring loose change... More

Mary Valley Heritage Railway/The Valley Rattler Steam Train Gympie – the town that saved Queensland from bankruptcy due to the finding of Gold in the area. We stopped off there after reading about this and the The Valley Rattler – a steam train journey that can be taken on certain days of the week which you can find here. http://www.thevalleyrattler.com/... We loved the Mary Valley Heritage Railway. My wife, myself, and our 5-year-old did the half-day journey, and it was a blast. The railroad was wonderful, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The scenery was lovely, and the whole trip was a great experience. It's rare to find a true steam locomotive, and this was a fine one. I'd recommend... More
