This is one of the few medieval castles in Finland and worth a visit. But don't expect especially medieval feeling inside, since many rooms are renovated. The location of the castle is very scenic!

We were really lucky with this castle, as it usually is closed this time of the year. On the day that we were there it was open (even free of charge) beause there was a Christmas market. The whole castle was open and you could tour around in all the rooms, it really was a maze of connected rooms and...

It's a big old castle, certainly worth the (small) price of admission. You can see what passed for luxury accommodations a few hundred years ago - and how small people used to be, judging from how low the door arches are! But even more interesting to me was the military museum next door, dedicated to the Winter War between Finland...
