Very Highly Recommended. Tyntesfield House is a National Trust property, about 8 miles south of Bristol. A stunning manor house with accompanying gardens, come equipped with sturdy shoes and be prepared to walk-- a lot. A lovely walk through the grounds mentally transitions you from the hustle and bustle of the 21st century, back though time to a more leisurely... More

We would go back any time possible! The house leaves you speechless due to the accumulation of things, material, stuff. It is literally packed to the rafters. Four generations left their marks indeed. The gardens and the gigantic trees are a true haven and a treasure. Parts were or are left to grow freely, parts are neatly kept in borders.... More

We have made a number of visits to the house and gardens, as we live nearby and helped, in common with many other people, to find sufficient monies for the National Trust to purchase the Estate and thereby prevent its breakup and sale in separate lots by auction to third parties. Much work has been done to open up the... More

Visited today for lunch, I had wild garlic and Brie flan and salad. The flan was very greasy and quite small considering that the only side dish was a load of lettuce, where was the garlic? The bread roll was undercooked and all in all was very expensive, £5.25 for the flan! Friends spiced chickpea soup was underwhelming and not... More

Visited Tyntesfield on a visit to the South West and it was one of the most interesting attractions I have ever visited...the history of the family and the estate are both fascinating and the volunteers are really knowledgeable making it a great day out. Certainly worth a second visit when back in the area....really recommend it for adults and children... More

My wife and I have lived within ten minutes drive for the last four years and wished we had visited sooner...the house and private chapel are a delight, the volunteers are excellent worth talking to them as their knowledge is so good. So close to the city of Bristol yet so peaceful. The cow sheds have been transformed into a... More

Tyntesfield is a wonderful house where you can feel as though you have stepped into a Victorian family's home who have just popped out for the day and will soon be back. There is a treasure trove of fascinating things to see in every room and all the guides are extremely well versed in the history of the house and... More

We visited on easter weekend we were greeted by a pleasant man who gave us directions on where to park in the busy car park and advised us that if we wanted to go round the house it would be best to buy our tickets first. we did. we started with a lovely lunch in the cafe, it was quite... More

Superb restoration & preservation of both the gardens and buildings comprising the estate. This is a real insight into the history and operation of the site, and it is worth spending at least half a day there if you want to see it all.Ten years of work by the National Trust have paid off. If you do visit then the new cafeteria... More
