We visited Nelahozeves Castle after we learned of it when visiting the Lobkovicz Palace in Prague. The Lobkovicz Palace museum was so well done and the family's story so fascinating, that we thought it would make for a nice day trip to see Nelahozeves. We were not disappointed. After a 30-min. trip on a very modern train that follows the... More

We had toured Lobkowicz Palace in Prague and were so impressed that we were eager to see more of the Lobkowicz Collection. The Castle contains rooms shown in period style of the Lobkowicz family through many centuries. In the Castle, but not open to the public without appointment, is a Library that contains 65,000 volumes in various languages, including 679... More

It really feels like you've been invited to visit this noble family at their country residence, a castle (not of a military type) full of beautiful objects, displayed in the most natural way, bringing you to intimacy with generations and ways of living long gone... a beautiful, peaceful day out. and, not to miss: Dvorák 's house, where the great... What an exciting ending to a wonderful trip. Once we disembarked the river boat we traveled to Prague and had an enchanting dinner at the Nelahozeves Castle, It was charming from the minute we stepped into the courtyard of the Castle and were greeted by vintage dressed ladies. Once inside, we were greeted by the owner of the castle, Prince... More

After visiting the splendid Lobkowicz Palace in Prague, we wanted to learn more about the Lobkowicz family story and visited the Nelahozeves Castle, about 20 minutes outside of the city. It is not to be missed -- it was wonderful to see the countryside and the magnificent palace, and the amazing rooms set up as the family might have used... More

After an enjoyable morning at The Lobkowicz Palace in Prague, we looked forward to a day-trip to another family castle in the countryside. This venue is viewed by means of a private guide which allows for questions and answers. The amount of personal artwork and family heirlooms lost and then recovered by the family is stunning. This was another opportunity... More

Just 45 minutes by train from Prague, this unspoilt, quiet village boasts two major attractions - the Castle and the birthplace of composer Antonin Dvorak. The Castle has survived the Nazis and the Communists and holds a fascinating collection of paintings, furniture, porcelain, as well as medieval wall paintings. Some of the collection moved this year to the Lobkowicz Palace... More
