The art is exhibited in the baroque palace, Colloredo-Mansfeld, with its space that offers astounding evidence of the construction work performed under the Communist regime on the historic monuments. « less

Stumbled upon this gallery by chance on my first day in Prague, and - WOW! I spent several hours wandering around the galleries A, B and C, and was fascinated as much by this wonderful old building as I was by the art. As the previous reviewer said, it is raw and energetic, and utterly inspiring. The juxtaposition of the... More

We appreciated the art as much as we did the opportunity to see the condition of the palace and the story behind it. This place is not completely set up as a tourist attraction, so have a snack and use the washroom before coming. That said, the art isn't what is being shown elsewhere, and it is well worth an... Firstly this building is amazing, and its a testament to the massive shift since the fall of communism, when beautiful buildings were taken for granted and modern art was NOT allowed! This building despite being shabby in the extreme is amazing and has been purposely left that way so that people can see the lack of care such important buildings... More

Awesome, provoking, sometimes disgusting. An art museum that makes you laugh, wonder, think and sometimes makes you look away. It challenges you.... In the cool city of Prague this place is subzero. A must see (at your own risk).

First: It's not a museum. If I walk through a museum I don't want to freeze. There was no heating, apart from that it was also very windy inside the building. Most of the art was very ugly and disgusting. I think provocation is sometimes necessary in art, but only being provocative without supporting the painting/object in its meaning with... More

En route to the Charles Bridge, you are likely to be drawn into this contemporary art museum by the large installation of 4 giant guns by David Cerny suspended in the courtyard. The quality of the art is variable; I agree with previous contributors that some of it is pretty amateurish and certainly not to everyone's liking. However, the setting... More

Me and my friends, we decided to visit Prague. We did so in October and it was one wonderful trip. Prague is stunning city and the visit of the museum made that trip really great. We love contemporary art and the art in the museum seemed to be the best selection of art from the czech art scene. The Guns... More

I was surprised to read the other positive reviews. Very few pieces in this museum pass for art, besides the 4 gun exhibit visible from the street (which drew my attention), and the Gymnast Jesus. Most pieces were very amateur, the type of stuff you'd find scribbled on a wall in a public bathroom. Far more were just needlessly provocative... More

The building COULD be magnificent. It is crumbling which is too bad as this may never get repaired and it is a real treasure of a facility. The art waivers between excellent, outlandish and amateur. So you can't really make a decision on if it's good, bad or otherwise. But, there are a number of David Cerny pieces - Saddam... More

This museum was recommended to me by a friend and although I didn't have high expectations, I was really impressed by the exhibition. The museum is located in the city centre and is easily accessible by public transport. When I first entered the building I knew there was something special about it - it just didn't seem like any other... More
