Any trip, no matter how long you stay, should start at the Old Town Square. Beautiful buildings everywhere. Enough restaurants and bars to keep anyone happy. The choice is endless. Free music and the added entertainment of the hourly display from the Astronomical clock. I love to sit with a good book, soaking in the atmosphere and just enjoying being... more

I really enjoyed visiting the Old Town Square. Mainly it is just a nice place to walk around and look at the clock. I would say that other then walk around and maybe eat at one of the restaurants, there is really not a lot to do. I would recommend trying to visit around a time where the clock will... more

Wasn't crowded when we went (early, mid-day and late evening). During the day, the vendors have some REALLY good eats. The chicken kabobs were good, the fire roasted sausages were especially good but the best thing (we came back to the square a second time just to get 'em) was the peasant potatoes (small skinless potatoes cooked over a wood... more

Not really great- you see clock, building of town square , church, square & tons of people. There are so much better scenes & places to see in adjacent countries with less crowds like Bratislava & Budapest & Vienna. The only thing nice is so much tourist stores. more

Great atmosphere both day and night. The public transport links are fantastic. The food was good especially the dumplings and well priced and the beer was the best we've ever tasted. Watch out for the cafe/bars within Prague city centre as we learnt a costly lesson. Totally agree that you should see the city without a guide. We had planned... more

We frequently go to Pargue as we have family who now live and work there. The Old Town Square has a buzz about it, no matter what time of year one visits, and the hot mulled wine, sold at various stalls, is warming and cheering during the cold winter months. Large open-air concerts (FREE!) are often held in the square,... more

We stayed at a hotel on Starometske Namesti for our honeymoon, which was my 1st trip to Prague and my hubby's 3rd. I was blown over by the beauty of the square. We had amazing views from the hotel room. The square is large and there is always something going on. We saw a wedding and a Hare Kristna festival... more

Can be a little hectic and a little crazy, since Prague tends to attract a lot of college kids who love to suck down too many Pilsners, but it's a gorgeous area for sightseeing, even if the famous Astronomical Clock ultimately disappoints expectations (watch your wallet when you're standing there watching for the hourly display -- many pickpockets I've been... more
