I wont pretend to know much about Cubism, other than that Picasso was one of the more famous exponents of the style, but I found the concept of turning this art form into buildings interesting. This even extends to pottery items which you can buy from the Kubista shop next door. Some of the items were very nice but sadly... more

As a student incredibly fascinated with art history, Prague is the place to be for architecture. This museum was three floors of well arranged and incredibly fascinating cubist pieces of all mediums, as well as informational panels about the history of the movement and the artists. The 'Orient' cafe is open on the first floor of the building, restored to the original appearance. Even the little round cakes (venecky) are square :) more

This big building has a black madonna statue on one of its corner as you can see. Hence its name. It was built in 1912. It houses the Museum of Czech Cubism and the Grand Cafè Orient. Address; Celetna ul. 34. Stare Mesto. Prague 1. Tel 242 117 32. more
