Okay, the black madonna is a statue that had been on the previous building and is now added to this one - with a screen around it for protection. The building is interesting if you like cubism as it is done in this style and there is a small museum, but I'm not much of a fan.

We really enjoyed our visit to the House of the Black Madonna. We visited the exhibition of cubist art, sculpture, design housed in the building. Spread over 3 floors, the works were excellent and very well presented. There is a cafe in this building but we didn't use it as we found it to be very smoke-filled when we went... More

Enjoy a cup of coffee, they serve good cakes, in the Grand Cafe Oriental together with the very special furniture style. But before going upstairs look up in the hole between the upgoing stairs. It will impress on you. The Cubist museum is very enjoyable with paintings by Josef Capek among other. When leaving look back at the house and... More

Check this out in central old town. The cult of the Black Madonna is quite interesting and not limited to Prague.

We walked right past in a few times but then after two tour guides pointed it out specifically we then couldn't help but see it :) The building is of a style that is very different from the rest; I liked it very much. The location of the building is also interesting since it is situated on the most haunted... More

It's a building with cubism design, with a cubism museum, a nice cafe and a store. You can see the figure of the black Madonna on the corner of the building.

Beautiful!! Even if you don't have the time to go inside, it's in the Stare Mesto area and you're likely to pass by it, so take a few minutes to enjoy.

This house was between our hotel and the old town square, and I have to admit that I walked right past it a couple of times before I recognized the building from a picture in my guidebook. The arcitecture of the house stands somewhat out from the surrounding building and the statue of the Black Madonna can be seen on... More

The House of the Black Madonna is a cubist style house. It was built at the beginning of 20-th century, and it’s situated on Celetna street, in the Old Town. Like a curiosity, a statue of the Black Mother of the God is attached to the house at its first floor, from where comes the name of the house. Now,... More
