the focal point - the old new synagogue is basically one room open for public visitations and the entrance fee is as much as the short tour entrance at prague castle. i found it overrated.

Well my wife and I have just visited the synagogue and was a bit shocked at the cost to in effect visit a small church. We paid 200 czch Krowns EACH. I thought it was worth half that at push and consideringnyouncan visit almost any church or cathederal for nothing. Anyway then we discovered the cemetery nearby which was really...

We didn't get inside the synagogues or the cemetery, just walked around them. There a very beautiful Synagogue on the "Jerusalem road", never seen anything like it. You can also visit the oldest synagogue in Europe there, where supposedly the Maharal made the Golem to protect his perish (other story tells of his attempt not to violate the Sabbath). There...

Definately a site worth seeing. The history is impressive. The synagogue with the names of the Holocause victims and the art of the concentration camp children is harrowing. Beware getting around the area with a large stroller if you need it since it will get cramped in a hurry.
Beautiful buildings. The cemetery was nice. Enjoyed the area around the quarter. Nice park.
Synagogues, antique stores, Kafka and really high end shopping. Odd mix but made the area interesting.
One of the most moving sights I have ever been too. Buy the full ticket to see all the Synagogues (it's worth it). Keep in mind they're all closed on Saturday! Would highly recommend you read up on the history of the quarter (and all the Synagogues) to put it in perspective, and the signifigance of what you visit.
The Jewish Quarter in Prague is incredibly unique and very special. Visitors to Europe visit many churches, but it is so interesting to learn about the history of the Jewish people in Europe. Walking through the streets of this quarter and seeing all the synagogues, the cemetery, and the museum is just such a powerful, interesting, amazing way to learn...

A warning about the tour of the Jewish Quarter and of the Museum - it is a highly emotional experience. I am not of the Jewish faith but very few other sites I have visited have touched me as deeply. To think that a highly skilled, intellectual and talented society that was so deeply ingrained in a country and a...

Powerful place to visit. The old synagog museum is sparse and a silent witness to the holocaust as you realize most of the objects that could have been in the museum were annihilated during the genocide. I was moved by the old Jewish cemetery. It's so old and beautiful with great mo-jo!
