This was a very average experience - the museum offers quite a lot of information about the rise and fall of communism in Czechoslovakia, using a lot of text (well written and multilingual - practically everything was in Czech, English, German, French and, I think, Spanish). There are some artifacts, but the information about them isn't deep. It's mostly a... More

The Museum of Communism is definitely worth a look. The building and exhibits are a little old looking but the information is very interesting. Descriptions are also translated to English and several other languages.

The museum was a bit hard to find, it's in the same building as the casino and there was only a small sign saying "museum" among many others (and other museums' signs) but that didn't put us off. We spent almost two hours there but I would have liked to dedicate more time to it. After reading some reviews I... More

I like history and have read extensively on the Communist period (visited most of the former USSR). I had expected that this museum would enhance my knowledge of what happened in Czechosolvakia during the communist regime, but there was really very little that was not known, or, what someone who is interested in the subject, can read. There is a... More

Apart from being quite hard to find, (it took us two attempts and tripadvisor reviews wound up helping us find it) the communist museum is also fairly boring. The content is ok and is in many languages, but it's not got any real artefacts or exhibitions that draw people to it other than its name.

Ironically located in the second floor a McDonald, neighboring a Casino just across the corridor, this museum has a lot to offer to someone who is already familiar with the concept of Cold War and Communism era. But if you are not, I should say you might find it quite boring and confusing. It makes a relatively clear image of... More

Really enjoyed this museum, small but very informative and all in English. Recommend to all who want a good basis of what life was like for the people of Prague during this time.

I was looking forward to this museum and was disappointed. First, it's actually quite hard to find...don't look for the museum, look for the casino (enter the arcade beside the McDonalds, turn right, go up the stairs). Second, if you are allergic to mould, do not go here! The smell of mould was overwhelming in places. The museum jumps through... More

Although this is not a high-tech or polished museum, we rate it highly for being a thorough, thoughtful and entertaining history lesson. Yes, there is a lot of reading--it covers some of the major historical events of our century! All the information is well written and presented in six languages. Apparently this was put together by an American businessman, so... More
