It is situated east side of St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague Castle complex. It is best-preserved Romanesque chruch in Prague with Gothic style chape which hold the tomb of the saint. The building now houses the 19th century Bohemian art collection of National Gallery in Prague and serves as a concert hall for early evening classical concerts.

This was the first Basilica in Czech Rep. Given the fact it is over a thousand years old, I believe the simplicity can be excused, if you manage to see behind the walls.

Being near the huge St Vitus Cathedral, this basilica seems smaller. But I appreciated the twin towers, the baroque façade (made in XVII-st century), the austere nave and the crypt. The Romanesque style basilica was built in the year 921 by prince Vratislav. I recommend a visit here.

This oldest church of Prague Castle, dating back to 920 and having witnessed centuries of different architectural eras bears today impacts of both baroque and gothic styles due to many renovations it went through during all these years. Shadowed by the well deserved fame of St-Vitus Cathedral, it's obviously less attractive and less impressive however, it still worths a visit... More

Located next to St. George's Convent housing Mannerist and Baroque art from Bohemia, St. George's is the oldest church in Prague Castle. Builti by Prince Vratislav I from 915 to 921, St. Ludmila is buried here along with Prince Vratislav I. There are some macabre tombs including that of Prince Vratislav I where you can view the bones and skull,... More
