I had an unpleasant experience here when I visited the museum with a friend we met a man on a wheel chair trying to get in, but he could not find the handicap access. I went in and ask at the ticket office and was told that there wasn't any. That they would have to carry him up the stairs...

Closed for renovation for five years; subway works fine with 24 kc for non transfer tickets and 32 kc for tickets which allow transfers (to above ground tram/bus etc) within 90 min time period; make sure to stamp your ticket as you enter the subway
Possibly the best museum in Prague to get to know about the city and where it has come from. I saw it on the last day of a 6 week stay, and I certainly do not regret taking the time out to see it then!

Much of this museum was, to be honest, not really our cup of tea, but this museum is worth visiting for one item alone.
